Dorothy (Clay) Schievelbein

Obituary

The family of Dorothy Clay Schievelbein would like to share that her work on earth is done. She passed peacefully at her home on October 25, 2020 at the age of 76. She received a call from our Lord for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a long awaited reunion with her beloved husband, Robert and loyal companion Mister.

She was a graduate of Seguin High School and retired from Motorola as an Instructor in the training department. Dorothy lived her life with the heart of a servant. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star Seguin 555, an active member of Emanuel’s Ladies Aid. She was a self-taught seamstress, cake baker, master of handy work of which included crocheting, hand embroidery, gardening, canning and reading.

She is preceded in death by both her father and mother; her beloved husband, Robert F. Schievelbein Jr.; brother, Danny Clay; grandson, James Anthony Anderson and her great-granddaughter, Blakelee Grace Thivierge. 

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Terry (Kevin Lovejoy) Anderson, Michelle (David) Tschoepe and Mandy (Doug) Anderson; grandchildren, Clayton (Paige) Anderson, Kelsey (Bryan Hauteman) Anderson , Dawn Thivierge, Dustin (Megan) Thivierge, Derrick Thivierge, Marcus Lang, Austin Lang, Taylor (Nan) Anderson and Kaylee Anderson; great-grandchildren, J.T., Kyleigh, Emmaleigh, Reed and Logan; siblings, Erin (Linda) Clay, Susie (Kenneth) Cochran and sister-in-law, Darlene Clay.  Dorothy is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. Continued Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church (206 N. Travis St., Seguin, Texas). Funeral Procession will depart concluding the service to Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels, Texas.

As per CDC protocol social distancing of 6 feet is required and all guests attending services at the funeral home, church and cemetery are asked to wear a face covering.
