James Mathis

James R. Mathis of Seguin, Texas went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2020 at the age of 47. He was born on August 29, 1972 in Seguin, Texas and was raised by his loving parents, David and Christine McClure.

James was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. His resilience to fight the good fight shined through and through. He was extremely funny, wonderful, caring and strong to name a few of all of the endless qualities he possessed. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a passion for collecting and playing with RC Cars. You could find him bumping his favorite jams and making his family laugh. James will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, David McClure; mother, Christine McClure; brother, David McClure Jr. and his father and mother-in-law, Lano and Mary Beth DeLeon.

Left to cherish and honor his memory is his loving wife of 30 years of marriage, Mary DeLeon; his children, Brittiney DeLeon, James D. Mathis and Charles Priestly; his sister, Carol Toms; his grandchildren, Craig James Wilson and James David Mathis Jr. James is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

At this time due to the events happening in our nation and our world, Visitation will remain private and for family only.
