Mary D. Gonzales

January 6, 1932 — February 10, 2021

Mary D. Gonzales of Seguin, Texas gained her angel wings on February 10, 2021 at the age of 89. Mary was born on January 6, 1932 to Gumecindo and Matiana (Lopez) De La Cruz.

Mary was a strong woman of God as well as in her faith. She loved wholeheartedly and would do anything and everything for her family, but most of all she would pray for everyone by name. She was an amazing cook and was always ready to make her amazing food for everyone to eat. She was always ready to jump in the car and go on adventures, whether it was to go alone or with her family. She was always had an amazing sense of humor and loved to joke around and dance to any music that you would put on the radio or even just the beat of a drum. She was the life of every party, but most of all she left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her and for that she will be truly missed.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ruben Gonzales Sr.; sister, Ramona Salazar; brothers, Edward “Lefty” De La Cruz and Reyes De La Cruz and great-granddaughter, Jasmine Rios.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Brenda G (John) Embody, Ruben Gonzales Jr., and Janie Boggs; grandchildren, Erica (Ernest) Torres, Norma (Gilbert) Ruiz, Neomi (Daniel) Rios, Rebecca Sanchez, Jeffrey Sanchez, Ruben Gonzales III, Melissa (Gilbert) Martinez; brothers, Toribio (Gloria) De La Cruz and Leonides (Emma) De La Cruz, sisters, Sarah Medrano and Belia Guerrero; 21-great-granchildren and 5-great-greatgranchildren as well numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Mortuary followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral procession to depart the chapel concluding services for interment at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the chapel has a limited capacity of 50 guests at a time. As per CDC protocols social distancing of 6 feet is required and all guests attending services at the funeral home and cemetery are required to wear a face covering.
