Samuel "Sam" Martinez

Samuel "Sam" Martinez of Seguin, Texas went to be with Lord on May 27, 2021 at the age of 52.

Samuel better known as Sam Martinez was born on October 2, 1968 in Falfurrias, Texas but was raised in Kingsville, Texas until 1990. It was then that he moved himself and his family to Seguin, Texas. Sam worked for Tex-Mix Concrete Inc. for over 18 years where he started as a mixer driver hauling concrete, later promoted to Plant Manager, and recently took the position of area manager. Sam was well-known as hard-working and the best dad. His children were the apple of his eyes until he was promoted to a Grandfather AKA “Wowo”. During his 52 years, Sam made many friends and always left a lasting impression on those he met. His generous spirit and affection will always be remembered as “my cool uncle” by his nieces, nephews. Sam was always the life of every party. He enjoyed BBQing with family and friends at gatherings. He loved outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and attending his grandkids sport activities. Sam’s radiant smile illuminated any room, he lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ana Maria and Arturo Martinez and his brothers, Alex Martinez, and Arnold Martinez.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Yolanda “Yoli” Martinez; children, Georgina “Gina” Shearrow, Sam Martinez Jr. and wife Yamel, Jeramy Martinez, Christian Martinez, step-son, Enrique Treviño III and Mariah and Jasiah whom he raised as his own; grandchildren, Christopher, Aliannah, Diego, Alex, Sebastian, Vick, J.J., Jaylee, Jordan, Elaina and Eleanor; his brothers, Arturo Martinez, Michael Martinez and sisters, Belinda Martinez and Cynthia Martinez. Samuel is further survived by many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friend.

Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A final viewing will be on Friday, June 4, 2021 starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by a brief funeral service at 10:00 a.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home concluding service and interment will be at San Geronimo Cemetery.

At the request of the family, all guests attending funeral services at the funeral home are asked to wear a face covering when inside the building and chapel at all times.
