Sharon Lee Stephenson passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born on January 25, 1951 in Freer, Texas to Gilbert Leo Mercer and Wilma Lee Bagwell.

Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Leo Mercer; mother, Wilma Lee Bagwell; husband, Allen Boyd Stephenson; sons, Troy Allen Stephenson, Paul Andrew Stephenson, and Kevin Boyd Stephenson; brother, William Leo Mercer; and her grandson, Richard C. Hall III “Tre”.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly D. Hall; brothers, Bobby Joe Mercer, Lance Mercer, and David Wayne Mercer; sister, Vergie Sue House; grandchildren, Hailey L. Spradlin, Kayla S. Hall, Seth E. Hall, Averigh G. Stephenson, Clayton A. Stephenson, Ted “Teddy” Stephenson, William S. Ashburn, and Courtney N. Campbell; along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Palmer Mortuary from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The visitation will then continue at Palmer Mortuary the following morning on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m. Friends and family are then welcome to meet at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at Shelter 1 on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10 a.m. for a burial.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, loved ones make donations to Truth in Nature at truthinnature.org.
