Maria (Chavez) Valdez

Maria L. Valdez of San Marcos, Texas passed away on November 11, 2022, at the age of 94. She was born in Laredo, Texas to Inez (Barcena) and Francisco Chavez.

She is preceded in death by her parents Inez and Francisco Chavez; husband, Pedro Valdez Sr.; son, Pedro Valdez Jr. and daughter, Inez Noemi Valdez; brother, Fortino Chavez and sisters, Esperanza Arrieta and Carmen Chavez Valdez; grandchildren, Carlos Medrano, Jennifer Medrano, Dakota Crider, Michael Valdez and Sandy Valdez.

She is survived by her children, Alfredo and wife Gretchen Valdez, Israel Valdez, Dahlia Belinda Tristan and Marie Gomez as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. a funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Concluding the service in the chapel a funeral procession will depart to Santo Tomas Cemetery.
